Christmas in Australia is celebrated on December 25th and they say merry Christmas just like we do in America. Since Christmas is the summer time Santa Claus has been seen wearing a red bathing suit and travels on water skis. One of the traditions is putting up Christmas trees and decorating them. They also celebrate Boxing Day which is a big shopping day the day after Thanksgiving. People decorate their homes with Christmas bushes and like to listen to people sing carols. Some of the foods they eat are crackers, lobster, prawns, and lamington cakes. One interesting fact that I learned about Australia is that in the city of Sydney people decorate their houses with lights to raise money for charity. They raise over 35,000 dollars each year.
