Christmas in the Czech Republic is celebrated on December 24 through the 26th. One of the holiday traditions is to put a live carp(fish) in your bathtub and eat it on Christmas day!. People also make Christmas cookies with yummy confectionery sugar. Another tradition is to decorate Christmas trees. Families buy Christmas gifts and fast on Christmas day. Santa is called Jezisek. How I say Merry Chirstmas in the Czech language is "Vesele Vanoce". Gifts that are given during Christmas are mainly toys for children and clothing for adults. Some of the popular foods eaten are carp,potato salad,fish soup,fruit,and cookies.
